Effects of climate change. Moldova hit hard in recent years
The weather in Moldova is getting warmer. According to the study of the National Bureau of Statistics, the average monthly air temperatures, throughout the country, have rised during the years 2013-2016.
The highest temperature changes could have been observed in February, March and September.
According to statistics, an average temperature of almost one degree Celsius has been recorded in February 2013 in north of the country, while last year in the same period was recorded an average temperature of 3.3 degrees Celsius.
In 2013 the average temperature was of 0.6 degrees Celsius, and in 2016 nearly 5 degrees more.
The same trend is observed in the center of the country. In February 2013, Capital thermometers registered an average of one degree, and last year reached five degrees Celsius.
Three years ago, the government approved the strategy of adaptation to climate change for Moldova until 2020 and the Action Plan for its implementation.
The document provides reducing of climate change risks in agriculture, health, forestry, energy and transport.
