ELECTIONS in Romania! Future mayor of Bucharest
Today local elections are taking place in Romania. Over 18 mln citizens are awaited to choose the new mayors.
According to the latest polls, Gabriela Firea, member of the Social Democratic Party has the biggest chance to become the general mayor of Bucharest.
The candidate, 43 years old, is a journalist. In order to ensure the security of the elections, tens of thousands of policemen and peace officers are mobilized. The Romanian media mentions that the identity cards will be scanned in order to avoid multiple votes, and those who will break the rules will be fined with tens of thousands lei.
