Electronic voting should be introduced in Republic of Moldova: President Dodon
The statement was made during the "President Responds" show. According to the president, the authorities must make efforts so that in the next parliamentary or presidential elections, all Moldovan citizens abroad will have the opportunity to vote.
Moreover, Igor Dodon claims that during the election campaign he will not have official meetings and will not hand out diplomas and state awards. He will also no longer hold trilateral meetings with the prime minister and Parliament President, which regularly take place every Monday.
According to him, these actions will dispel the suspicions concerning the use of administrative resources in the electoral campaign.
Igor Dodon also says that he cannot suspend himself from office during the election campaign because it would block the country's legislative process. Furthermore, during the 29 years of independence, a president never left office during the campaign, he announced.
Recently, the Promolex Association mentioned that through his actions President Dodon creates confusion in the society, because the people do not differentiate the actions related to the direct attributions of the president and those with electoral tone. Thus, the institution suggested the president should not offer distinctions, orders, medals during the election campaign and have meetings with officials.
