Emergencies to be better managed, as Moldova inks accord with Lithuania
The emergencies in Moldova are going to be managed even more efficiently, as the country is to be supported by Lithuania. The two governments have inked an agreement providing for mutual cooperation and assistance in preventing and responding to calamities.
"We’ve signed a collaboration agreement in the field of civil protection and emergencies. The agreement regulates mutual aiding in natural calamities," said Interior minister Alexandru Jizdan.
His Lithuanian counterpart Tomas Zilinskas says his country backs Moldova’s joining the European Union: "It’s the beginning of a new cooperation between our countries, between these two ministries. We see dozens of opportunity to work together. Let me assure you the Lithuanian Government supports Moldova in its joining the European Union."
The official has announced the Vilnius Government donated the Moldovan Emergency Service tens firetrucks.
