Employers responsible for safe working conditions

Employers will be forced to protect employees from exposure to substances that may cause cancer or genetic diseases for people working in industry, construction and agriculture.
The safeguards are exposed in a government decision, which enters into force today, December 16th.
According to health regulations, employers must prevent, during the production process, the release of toxic substances.
The document obliges employers to choose less dangerous technological processes or limit the access to employees in the area where the risk of exposure to toxic substances is high.
Employers also must provide protective equipment, clean working spaces, showers, toilets and workers mush inform of the risks in the workplace.
