EU supports integration of ATU Gagauzia into national development framework

The executive approved the draft on the negotiations initiation and the Amendment passing at the Financing Agreement between the Moldovan Government and the EU regarding the Confidence Building Measures Programme signed on 26 March 2014.
The agreement derives from Moldova - EU Joint Action Program in 2013 and is an international treaty. Furthermore, the amendment will be concluded between Moldova Government and the European Commission by letter exchange.
The proposed amendment is to change the implementation deadline for Part IV of the Agreement "Integration of ATU Gagauzia into the National Framework for Regional Development" with 24 months.
Expanding the term is necessarily designed to successfully implement the actions proposed under the Agreement.

Component IV, worth € 5 million, is detailed as follows:
Integration of ATU Gagauzia into the national framework for regional development (service contracts) - 1 mil euro;
Civil Society Support from ATU Gagauzia (Grant Contracts) - 1 million Euro;
Support of local public authorities in ATU Gagauzia (direct grant) - 3 mil euro.
