EU will be informed about legislation changes

The European Union will be regularly informed about the solutions that will be discussed for the improvement of the electoral legislation after the invalidation of the Chisinau elections. The subject was discussed in Strasbourg during the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the head of the legislature, Andrian Candu, with Johannes Hahn, the commissioner for the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.
Pavel Filip informed about creating of a working group with the participation of the Government and the Parliament representatives to examine the electoral legislation and eliminate existing gaps.
The experts will examine their experience in other European countries and will benefit from the support of the Council of Europe.
The working group was created following the invalidation of the elections in the Capital.
The head of the Executive said that the political developments in Chisinau should not affect the cooperation between Moldova and the EU.
Commissioner Johannes Hahn said the EU is closely following developments in our country and mentioned the importance to respect the democratic standards.
