Eugen Sturza congratulated by his Romanian counterpart for becoming new Defense Minister
Defense Minister Eugen Sturza has spoken today on the phone with his Romanian counterpart Mihai Fifor.
The Romanian official has congratulated Eugen Sturza with his promotion and wished his success in his mandate and initiatives he wishes to perform within the Ministry of Defense and National Army.
The Minister have discussed of current Moldo-Romanian collaboration relations in the defense field and have exchanged their opinions regarding the political and regional situation in Republic of Moldova, strategic documents within the defense field, accentuating the National Defense Strategy approved on Wednesday, Novermber 1, by the Government.
At the same time Eugen Sturza said that he will put all his efforts to enhance the situation in the National Army and for this to be done, he will prioritize reforms and modernization of the institutions by increasing the cooperation with international partners and raising the institution's standards to those from the West.
Minister Sturza expressed his gratitude toward Romanian official for allowing offices and sub-officers in the international „JCET-2017” drills that took place in the current Military Training Base of the National Army.
Both parties agreed to intensify Moldo-Romanian cooperation in all areas of common interest, including mutual participation of Moldova's and Romania's army in international drills, as well as the implementation of new projects that will benefit both institutions.
