Romanian European Parliamentarian Andi Cristea asks to investigate the funding sources of the Open Dialog Foundation. This is after journalists from zeppelin.md have published an investigation in which evidence is provided that more people in the entourage of PPDA leader Andrei Năstase and the family of the interlop Veaceaslav Platon have traveled with tickets purchased by the organization headed by Ludmila Kozlowska, expelled from the EU.
The President of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee with the Republic of Moldova in the European Parliament Andi Cristea made these statements in an interview for Radio Free Europe.
'Considering the Foundation's efforts to defend one or more controversial characters, I believe that significant resources are needed for this, and it may also be necessary to investigate in Brussels the transparency of the Foundation's funding and the correct recording of lobbying activities in the public register, "said Andi Cristea, European Parliamentarian.
Previously, DPM deputies were concerned about the links between Kozlowska and the PAS and PPDA leaders and addressed letters to the Intelligence and Security Service, the National Anticorruption Center, the Foreign Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Money Laundering Prevention and Control Servicewho asked for the investigation of this situation. The authors have called for measures to be taken to avoid any damage to the national interest of the Republic of Moldova that may be brought about by the actions of Ludmila Kozlowska and its foundation. The Polish Open Dialog NGO has lobbyed in Europe for the parties led by Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase, but also for CIS 1 raider Veaceslav Platon.
Previously, Kozlowska denied any connection with Plato. In the autumn of last year, Financial Times wrote that the organization has funded PAS and PPDA leaders' travel to European institutions. The Polish services link this organization to the name of the Kazakh oligarch Mukhtar Ablyazov, who was finally convicted in 2013 by the High Court of Justice in London for financial scams. Moreover, brother Ludmila Kozlowska, Piotr, the main NGO financier, is the owner of a Crimean firm. The company supplies equipment for Russian nuclear submarines.
