European Union will offer technical assistance to support Civil Society of Moldova
The European Union will help the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Republic of Moldova to strengthen their institutional capacities by increasing the potential of accessing grants and the level of involvement in decision-making in local, regional and national governance.
It is the main target of the project "Technical Assistance to Support the Development of the Civil Society Organizations in the Republic of Moldova" funded by the European Union and implemented by the consortium led by the Family and Childcare Center (KMOP). The launching event took place on March 14, 2018 in Chisinau, with the participation of the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova Ambassador, Peter Michalko.
The three-year implementation project is addressed to the local civil society organizations, including the Transnistrian region, that will apply for EU grants. OSCs in the region, especially community-based organizations, will have the opportunity to receive sub-grants through three organizations that will implement the Grants Scheme under the EU Civil Society Facility 2015 Program.
This program, worth 7 million euros, is the basic tool for implementing EU support in the field of civil society. Two of the three organizations, that will provide about 3 million euros of rural CSOs, in the form of small grants, have already been selected: - East European Foundation and Soros Foundation Moldova. An organization will soon be selected.
