The evolution of withdrawal of Russian troops from the left shore of Nistru River is the main topic of the speech that Prime Minister Pavel Filip will address on Friday from the UN General Assembly tribune. The announcement was made by the head of the executive in an interview offered to the Moldpres agency before the Prime Minister went to New York.The official said he would thank all the member countries of the United Nations who voted in June for Moldova's resolution asking from Moscow to remove arms and troops from the Transnistrian region.
Filip also added that this issue will remain at the UN's eye for the future, as last week, the General Committee and the General Assembly adopted decisions on the inclusion in the agenda of a new point entitled "The complete withdrawal of foreign military forces from the territory of the Republic Moldova".
At the same time, the prime minister announced that he will ensure the international community that Moldova will remain actively involved in the UN processes regarding respect for human rights, peace and global development.
Philip has scheduled numerous bilateral meetings with European and American leaders.
At the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, there are some 130 heads of State and Government.
