Experts' advice on how to avoid fish poisoning
Nearly 70 percent of the fish reaching the markets in the country contains parasites that can cause allergies and poisoning. The National Food Safety Agency representatives say that although imported consignments are checked at customs, it is difficult to control each product.
According to experts, the salted fish has most parasites.
Annually, Moldova imports around 20,000 tonnes of fish. Much of it contains parasites.
Meanwhile, the fish that grows in water basins of our country is not harmful.
Market sellers say their products are checked daily.
People say fish is customary on their tables, and according to the appearance, realize if the goods are fresh or not.
To avoid possible poisoning, the experts recommend frozen fish to be maintained at a temperature of minus 20 degrees for at least 24 hours. Another solution is coking it at a temperature of above 60 degrees.
