Exports increased by nearly 29% in the first four months of 2018
Exports have increased by nearly 29% in the first four months of this year, compared to a similar period from 2017. According to National Bureau of Statistics, goods worth 878 million USD were sold abroad.
European Union remains the main partner. In the first four months of 2018, nearly 68% of the goods were delivered to member states. At the same time, nearly 17% ended up sold on the markets of CIS countries.
Data also shows that more products are sold in Romania, export increasing by close to 33%. Big quantities of Moldovan products are also sold on the markets of Italy, Germany, Switzerland and France. In USA were sold over 32% of the goods. While in United Arab Emirates were exported by 6.4% more products than in a similar period of time in 2017.
In exchange, exports to Russia decreased by nearly 9%. Most exported goods were of local origin, worth nearly 600 million USD, by 34.6% more than in January - April 2017.
According to the statistics, Republic of Moldova exports big quantities of fats, vegetable oils and live animals. At the same time, Moldova exported by 1.6% more cars and electronic devices. Exports also increased for grains, fruits and vegetables.
