Farmers can submit aid requests until the end of October
Over two thousand aid requests have been submitted so far by farmers from Moldova. The total amount reaching to 300 million lei, while around 67 million lei were already transferred on farmers account.
The Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture are expecting 1 500 more aid requests to be submitted by the end of the deadline, in October.
"The situation now is better than in previous team. In 2016 the first aid was provided to farmers only in November, 100 million lei, proving that in 2017 we will manage to abide all terms" director of AIPA, Nicolae Ciubuc declared.
He also stated that this year, farmers became more disciplined. This fact is proven by the small number of rejected requests, of 20.
Usually people request aid to purchase equipment, as well as to pay off debts.
"Most of the times the water here is of bad quality, which influences the amount of harvest. In order to increase it we need to buy a water filtration system, in order to boost the quantity" farmer Dumitru Miron said.
For 2017, AIPA has assigned 900 million lei for aid. Also, for the first time, the authorities managed to fully pay off the farmers, a debt of 340 million lei.
According to the statistics, the most farmers requesting aid originate from the central and southern part of the country.
