The tax of the paper used to print the newspapers can be excluded. The national security commission of defense and public order signed a project to modify some legislative acts.
The new modifications reduce the fees for sharing the important newspapers.
The new changes also reduce tariffs for the distribution of periodicals of social importance. These are proposed to be 50% of the amount of the tariff set for universal postal services.According to the project, domestic periodical publications containing 80% of the material produced by the editorial offices of the Republic of Moldova and / or by independent journalists in the country, including technical and intellectual means, are considered of social importance. Topics addressed may be analytical, journalistic, transparency, democracy and human rights, or public interest at regional level.
In the opinion of the authors, the establishment of fiscal facilities for mass-produced and / or publicly / publicly broadcast public interest messages has been recognized and explicitly stated in their necessity in the National Media Development Concept in the Republic of Moldova.
The amendments were drafted by national and international experts as well as representatives of civil society within the Working Group on Better Media Legislation and are promoted in Parliament by a group of MPs.
