Fighter Mihaela Samoil has conquered the first medal for Moldova at the European Youth Olympic Festival held in Baku Capital of Azerbaijan. She was awarded bronze in 49-kg category after defeating the Polish fighter Natalia Walczak. 

There are 28 sportsmen representing Moldova in the competition in its 15th edition.
