First declarations of Ion Ceban after the polling stations closed.
"This was a great campaign. I want to thank all of the people who voted and my team. We are waiting for the results. I want the people who work in the polling stations to be careful and attentive", said Ion Ceban.
The Capital residents decided the future of their country today. All the voting polls closed at 9 PM.
People had to decide between Ion Ceban, the socialist party leader and Andrei Nastase, the PPDA leader.
According to the CEC information, till 20:42, 246.507 (38,78%) citizens voted. The most active there were persons aged 56-70 - 79.716 and the less active there were the ones aged 18-25 (17.007)
According to the election code, the winner will be the candidate who gained the majority of the voted.
In case they will have a peer number of votes, the winner will be the one who had more voted in the first round.
For the second round of the Capital elections, 635 thousand ballots were printed. Of the total number, over 408 thousand ballots were in Romanian language and 227 thousand in Russian language. The ballot is 124 mm ling and 140 mm wide.
1 000 policemen provided the public order. CEC accredited over 740 national observes of five social organization and over 50 international observes of 17 foreign institutions.
