Specialists and the translators of the mimical- gestural language, students, doctors and social assistants, and also all those who have the wish to study the language of the non-hearing persons can do that thanks to the mimical-gestural language from Moldova, launched today, 30 March.

The dictionary counts over 2.000 signs presented in the most practical and efficient form, being structured on domains and ordered alphabetically, and the descriptions of the gestures’ manifesting are in Romanian, Russian and English languages. The signs are completed with photographic images that make it accessible to an extended circle of beneficiaries and an important support for the specialists in the domain.

"The mimical-gestural dictionary is expected by hundreds of persons with hearing disabilities, as well as by their families, it is an important step for the Republic of Moldova in the social inclusion of the persons with disabilities. It is a remarkable event in the context of the celebration of 5 years from the approval of Law 60 regarding the social inclusion of the persons with disabilities ", stated vice-minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Anastasia Oceretnîi.

The dictionary was realized by the Association of the Deafs from the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with Alliance INFONET, with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, within the project Promotion of the concept of translation in the signs’ language – a way for the social inclusion of the persons with disabilities.
