The richest harvest of cereals was registered this year in Floresti rayon.

Despite the cold and capricious spring weather, farmers raised, on average, 4 tons of wheat per hectare, nearly 500 kilograms more than the country average. The best-performing farmers were awarded by authorities in an organized event in Floreşti.

After carrying out survey, the authorities awarded the best agronomists, tractors and mechanizers. 

Likewise, farmers confess obstacles and methods to deal with extreme climatic conditions. Some have planted drought resistant seeds and others have used more fertilizers.

During this season, several areas with organic grains were also grown, which ensures greater income for farmers and better food quality.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, one million 65,000 tons of wheat was harvested this year. On average, 3.5 tons of wheat per hectare were collected by 300 kilograms more than last year.
