The number of flu and cold cases is dropping in Chisinau. According to healthcare authorities this is due to vaccination.

Over 32,000 people have been immunized up to now in Chisinau, that 90 percent of the vaccines given to the city.

"The decrease is 200 cases at the Children’s Hospital and there are fewer and fewer people hospitalized. The fact that the children are on vacation will even further downsize the phenomenon,” the deputy chief of the Chisinau Healthcare Department, Constantin Râmiş. 

The number of respiratory infections reached almost 6,000 in the last weeks of 2016, over 3,500 being children.

The vaccination drive started on December re 15.

Those 200,000 shots were donated by the United States.
