Four years have passed since Moldova signed Association Agreement with EU. What things have changed since then?

On June 27, 2014, Moldova signed the Association Agreement in Brussels, a document that reflects the general principles of the cooperation with the European Union, ensuring an effective justice and the right to free movement. The economic co-operation has reached new odds.
Due to the Free Trade Agreement, Moldovan businessmen have a wide access to the Community market, with nearly 500 million European consumers. The European Union has given our producers the possibility to export certain quantities of goods without paying customs taxes.
The economy reached impressive results. More and more goods are demanded by Europeans. In 2013, when the Association Agreement was not signed, the exports to the EU amounted to $ 1.1 billion. Last year, however, they were half a billion USD higher.
Thanks to the EU, business is open in our country, new jobs are emerging, and infrastructure is being modernized. Until now, the community bloc has provided us with grants worth 900 million Euro. The most recent aid is macro-financial assistance of 100 million euros, of which 40 are non-reimbursable.
For four years, we have been in the European countries freely, only with a biometric passport and we do not waste any time to get visas at diplomatic missions. According to the Border Police, over 1.5 million Moldovans traveled at least once in the European Union.
