France reaffirms its support for Moldova's reforms
The possibilities of intensifying the Moldovan-French relations at political and economic level were discussed today at the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the Ambassador of the French Republic to Chisinau, Pascal Le Deunff.
The prime minister expressed his gratitude for the political support given by France in promoting the European reform agenda of our country, as a co-initiator of the European Action Group of the Republic of Moldova.
In this context, Pavel Filip mentioned that he counts on a good evolve of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels on 26 February.
At the same time, the prime minister referred to the latest developments in the reforms implementation, noting that the ambitious goal of the Executive is to put an end to the oscillations between the East and the West, so that the European path of the Republic of Moldova becomes irreversible.
"The EU's popularity is rising. We need support messages from the EU and we, here in Chisinau, through the reforms are going to implement many important reforms this year, even if it is an electoral year ",said Pavel Filip.
For his part, Pascal Le Deunff reiterated his country's support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
"The Reform Program provided by the Association Agreement will foster economic and social development for the benefit of all citizens,", said the Ambassador. In particular, the Ambassador stressed the importance of ensuring the independence of the judiciary and the media.
The officials also referred to the possibilities of increasing the volume of trade in agriculture, as well as of the French investments in Moldova. In this sense, the Ambassador is opened to promote the investment opportunities in our country.
At the present moment, 225 businesses with French capital with a share capital of 137 million lei operate in the Republic of Moldova. The volume of bilateral trade exceeded 145 million dollars in January-November period of 2017.
