A new 5+2 negotiation round will take place in May. This time, both Tiraspol and Chisinau will have concrete results, declared Franco Frattini, the OSCE representative in Transnistrean region, at the final of the visit he paid to Moldova.

After the meeting with the representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Franco Frattini said he is convinced that 2018 can be a historical year for Moldova and Transnistrean region. At the same time, he added that the 5+2 format meeting from Rome is conditioned by the results that will be registered by the both sides.

"The 5+2 meeting that will occur in May will take place only if the sides will registered concrete results. It won't be a simple meeting. Both Chisinau and Tiraspol received the required aid to register results. I thing that a possible round of negotiations in 5+2 format will take place in May."

Franco Frattini reiterated the the Russian soldiers from the Transnistrean region should return in Russia, to provide the peace and stability.

Some analists from Chisinau think that whatever the OSCE representative says, he is against Republic of Moldova's authorities' opinion about the Russian army from the Trasnisnitrean region.

"First of all, we should have a concrete vision and then to discuss it with the international partners. We don't need to take too serious Frattini's words, we don't need to think this is the final decision, as it belongs to Republic of Moldova authorities. This looks a lot like the trying from 2000 to make Republic of Moldova a federal country. Whatever the way we understand the Trasnisnistrean problem, the country and its institutions should fulfill the citizens' interests", declared Vlad Turcanu, politics analyst.
