From January 1, 2019, children left without parental care will receive HIGHER ALLOWANCES
From January 1, 2019, children left without parental care and those placed in children's homes will receive a higher allowances. The Executive approved today the Regulation on the types, amounts and conditions for granting allowances for raising and caring for these categories of children. The document aims to unify the paid benefits and improve the material situation of children placed in family-type services.
According to the new provisions, the children placed in the guardianship/trusteeship service, those placed in the social service of the professional parental assistance and those in the family-type children's homes will benefit from a monthly allowance of 1,400 lei. This was increased by 75% - previously the children received 800 lei, 930 lei and 750 lei.
At the same time, the unique allowance of 3513 lei was set for the children placed in guardianship/trusteeship, and for the beneficiaries of the professional parental assistance and the children from the family type homes this was increased from 3000 to 3513 thousand lei.
The document also provides for 30%, 50% and 100% increments of single childcare allowances for children aged between 1 and 3 years and children under the age of one.
In order to pay the established allowances, additional financial resources amounting to about 40.5 million lei were provided in the state budget for 2019.
