The fruit canning season started in at the factories. At this time, employees work 24 hours a day to prepare jams to reach both local and foreign markets.
The factory representatives complain that strawberries and blackcurrants are not enough in the country, so they have to import from Ukraine and Poland. The other fruits are from the gardens and greenhouses of Moldovan farmers.
The canned plant in Orhei works in three shifts. The employees also make jam for Canada, America and Israel.
"We select them, yes, we break the codits to have nothing, to have nothing to do, to clean the strawberry."
"The conditions are normal, we have work and we are at home. We do several procedures: we cast and choose."
70 percent of canned fruit produced at the enterprise are exported.
"We are in the process of processing raw materials. At the moment we are working with berries and berries from cherries, cherry, currant, raspberries and strawberries", said Simion Murdea, the chief executive of a canning plant.
For the first time this year, jam jars were also sold in Africa.
"The jams are currently being exported to Africa as well. One of our favorite Moldovan traditional is apricot jam", said the managing director of a canned plant, Simion Murdea.
The plant was also visited by the leadership of the National Agency for Food Safety. The ANSA Director said that the products from this company are of high quality.
"Here is the quality of work, the sanitary hygiene rules are respected, all the requirements of the HSP system and other certification systems are respected", ANSA director Gheorghe Gaberi said.
This year, a million fruit jam jars are expected to be made.
