Gama Cahul won Moldova's male Basketball cup
Gama Cahul has received Moldova's male Basketball cup. The team trained by Roman Rusu has won with a dramatic score of 61 - 60, against the champion of last season, Basco Bălţi, in the finals which took place in Ciorescu.
Before its last game, Gama Cahul had a 13 point void, but managed to turn the tables and win the final match.
The star player became Petru Romanov, who managed to score both foul shots in the last 0.8 seconds of the game.
"It was difficult, but understood that there was no place for mistakes. I had to score" Romanov said.
"During this season we played against Basco on home field, in Cahul, but unfortunately lost. This time, we came better prepared, despite there being a few accidents" coach Roman Rusu declared.
Denis Melniciuc has managed to score 20 points. Players from Basco Bălţi refused to make any declarations after the game and did not attend the award ceremony. Gama Cahul has gained the trophy for the first time since 2013.
