General deputy director of ANSA accused of bribery
Vsevolod Stamati, the deputy director of the National Agency for Food Safety was dismissed during the criminal proceedings.
The decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers. Stamati was detained by the Anti-Corruption prosecutors at the beginning of December, because he asked products from many economic agents in exchange of protection certificates.
He was asking for wine, meat and sausages. The goods were brought directly to the ANSA office. Stamati holds this function since 2013.
If found guilty, he risks a fine of half million lei and 15 years in prison.
