General Prosecutor's Office opens two penal cases on Chisinau air pollution
General Prosecutor's Office opened two penal cases on the air pollution in Chisinau, which took place this summer. The information was confirmed by the head of media department of the institution, Maria Vieru.
Prosecutors found that the waste coming from a factory of alcohol placed on Muncesti street was illegally transported to the water treatment plant, which led to air pollution and bad odors in Chisinau.
According to the representatives of "Apa-Canal", the production waste from the factory reached the water treatment plant without being passed through a pre-treatment station, which had to operate on the territory of the plant.
Previously, local authorities together with the Ministry of Environment formed a working group and identified that the odor was caused by the waste of the alcohol factory on Muncesti street.
