Gheorghe Petic, accused of beating and raping a woman from Ungheni, was registered by CEC in electoral race
Gheorghe Petic, accused of beating and raping a woman from Ungheni, was registered as a candidate on the national list of the block formed by PAS and PPDA. Petic is 33rd in the binomial list, being proposed by the Party of Dignity and Truth, whose leader is Andrei Nastase. Actually, Petic is arrested, but the court may change the preventive measure if the accused gets involved in the election campaign.
"Gheorghe Petic submitted personally to the Commission the biographical data and declaration of personal wealth and interests, as well as the declaration of consent to apply for the position of deputy. It was found that the submitted documents correspond to the provisions of the Electoral Code".
Including Gheorghe Petic's PAS-PPDA block list, accused of violating a 31 years old from Ungheni, appears to be one of the most scandalous decisions of leaders Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase.
Politicians promise citizens justice reform, but they want to leave dangerous criminals free by appointing them to the post of deputy.
The head of the PPDA Branch in Ungheni district was arrested in October 2018 after a woman complained that she had been raped in her own apartment. Candidate no. 33 from the "NOW" block, Gheorghe Petic, was surprised by a surveillance camera while entering the house of the alleged victim, and on his clothes were found biological samples belonging to him.
Petic declares innocent, even if his lawyer did not deny that a sexual relationship took place between the two.
Gheorghe Petic was also involved in a sexual scandal. He was accused of harassing several former students of the National Border Guard College, where the man was a teacher. The eventual deployment of the deputy chairman will give Gheorghe Petic immunity.
