Gifts received by parliamentarians to be listed on web
The token gifts offered to law-makers, advisors and civil servants from the Parliament’s secretariat shall be declared within 5 days after the reception. The Parliament’s steady bureau passed a regulation regarding the usage of the token presents.
A special committee of the secretariat will check the gifts and their documents. In case the present is worth under MDL1,000, the committee will return it back to the owner, who’ll pay the same amount to the state budget.
In case, the present possesses scientific, historic or artistic value, it will be given to museums, libraries for free and the Culture Ministry will be notified.
Some things as perishable products, scarves or medals may be kept by the receivers as exceptions.
The gifts will be listed in a registry and made public on the web page of the Parliament.
