Moldova and Israel will extend the period of validity of the bilateral agreement on the temporary employment of workers in our country in certain sectors of Israel for an additional period of five years.

In this sense, today, the Government approved the draft law to extend the period the the agreement's validity till January 5, 2024. The previous agreement should have expired on January 5, 2019.

Thus, the document will contain the following parts:

-Ensuring a legal, fair and well-informed employment process for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, aiming at carrying out a work activity on the territory of the State of Israel (in construction filed);

- counteracting the collection of illegal workplace charges on the territory of the State of Israel;

- Promoting the protection of the labor rights and social protection of Moldovan workers during the recruitment, selection, departure, arrival, employment and return process.

In the context, the implementation of such Agreements achieves circular migration, which is a priority of state policy in the field of labor migration.

The extension of the period of validity results from the successful implementation of the Agreement for the duration of its validity. So far, 12 stages of recruitment and employment of Moldovan citizens have been organized on the territory of the State of Israel, with the organization of the employment of 6,082 Moldovan workers on the territory of Israel, operating on the basis of an individual contract work in over 20 Israeli companies.
