Moldovan farmers will collect over 505 thousand tons of apples this season. According to the Association of Moldovan Fruits Producers and Exporters, this will be the largest harvest in the last ten years.Also, in the other countries of the world, the forecasts are positive, which could lead to lower prices.
According to the association's director, Iurie Fala, the harvest will be of high quality, with the exception of some regions in the northern part of the country that have been affected by hail.
Most manufacturers will keep the fruit in the refrigerators and sell them later when prices rise.
In the EU the harvest increased by 13 percent and reached 12 million tons.
And the Russians will collect 200 thousand tons more apples.
In Ukraine and Romania the harvest is higher by 100 thousand tons.
China, however, recorded a decrease of 28%.
