Negotiations for this agreement were begun in 2015. The Canadian side wants to be sure that Moldovan plums will not contain harmful insects.
According to the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters, the plum harvest this year will be 10 percent higher than in 2017. Every year 100 thousand tons of plums are produced in Moldova. One part comes to Romania, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
