Government approves ratification of agreement on grant between Moldova and EBRD
The cabinet of ministers has approved the ratification of an agreement on grant between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with the help of which a project titled, Apa Nord Moldova (Water North Moldova), will be implemented. The project sees financing of works for modernizing the water supply networks of settlements from northern Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The grant is worth ten million euros and accounts for one third of the project’s overall value. About 400,000 citizens from the districts of Soroca, Drochia, Floresti, Riscani, Singerei and the Balti municipality will benefit from this project.
The implementation of the project, Apa Nord Moldova, will provide residents from northern region with safe drinking water, and will respectively, help improve these citizens’ living standards and protect the environment.
