The government has given a positive opinion on the project concerning information security in Moldova.

Several recommendations has been proposed. Justice Minister, Vladimir Cebotari said the fines for broadcasters is not proportionate to the violations.

According to Cebotari, the fines should be set according to the severity of the offence committed.

The document allows television stations to broadcast analytical, news and military programs only with reference to the EU, US, Canada and other Member States of the European Convention on cross-border television.

The document stipulates the sanctions range from 40 to 70 thousand lei. In the case of repeated deviations, the fine amounts to one hundred thousand lei, and the most severe punishment, applied by Audiovisual Co-Ordinance Council, will be the license withdrawal.
