GOVERNMENT HAS ENOUGH MONEY to increase salaries
Government of Republic of Moldova has enough money to increase the salaries in the budgetary sector according the wage reform.
The government's wage reform, which provides for significant salary increases of nearly 200,000 people, has sparked a series of positive and critical societal debates.
According to the Facebook PostNews page, to which are attached charts from a report on the execution of the National Public Budget, the budget surplus reaches 1.8 billion lei.
The report also shows that the state has managed to generate much higher revenues than projected expenditures. Thus, according to the situation on September 30, 2018, the National Public Budget accumulated a surplus of almost 1.8 billion lei (the difference between income and expenses).
This amount can cover the need for funding for wage increases in 2019. The Ministry of Finance states that this requires an amount of 1.3 billion lei. Especially as for 2019 a new economic growth and budget revenues are predicted.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that more than 150,000 state workers will raise bigger woes since December 1st. The announcement was made by the leader of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, in the briefing after the weekly meeting of the party.
Greater wages will be made primarily by doctors, teachers, social workers, educators, kindergarten nurses, and employees in central and local public administration. Their leagues will increase by 20, 50, and for some even by 90 percent.
Vlad Plahotniuc added that, thanks to the reform, no employee in the public system will have a salary of less than 2,000 lei. Also, according to this project, each year, the Government will be obliged to increase the salaries of the public servants.
Vlad Plahotniuc also announced that in the spring of next year, the second step of the wage reform will be achieved. Then, the wages of those who have not now benefited from the levy increase will rise.
