Government to invest 25 mln lei to develop industrial parks in north
The Government will invest 25 million lei to develop the industrial parks from the towns of Bălţi and Edineţ. Then, over 30 companies from Moldova and abroad will be able to contribute to the development of northern Moldova and will create jobs. The topic has been broached by Regional Development minister Vasile Bîtca on a visit to the north.
Three years ago, a Ukrainian company set up a fruit processing plant in the Edineţ industrial park and created 200 jobs. Now the company plans to expand its business.
The local authorities maintain the park is a key link in Edineţ district’s development. "It’s an advantage not only for the resident firms, but also the fruit growers from our area,” deputy mayor of Edineț, Rodelia Vasilcov said.
Revamping works at the industrial park from Bălți will soon end. Nine companies already operate there.
"The state sounds a clear signal as to financing this project. We create the infrastructure, you come with the investments," said Ion Bodrug, the manager of the Nord regional development agency.
The authorities also plan to invest in projects meant to train specialists.
"We do our best to attract as many as possible investments and to have as many as possible funds in the local budgets," maintained Regional Development and Constructions minister Vasile Bâtca.
On September 30, a business forum targeting promoting the economic potential and attracting investments will be held in Balti.
