The Cabinet has allocated 3.95 million lei to award the sportspeople scoring remarkable results  at the Rio Olympics. Their coaches and doctors will also receive financial prizes.

Zalina Margieva and Alexandru Åžpac, getting on the fifth positions, will receive by 600,000 lei, the weightlifter Cechir, winning the sixth place, 400,000, and Larisa Marinenkova, getting on the seventh spot, will receive 300,000 lei.

Awarding Serghei Tarnovschi, who gained the bronze in simple canoeing, has been postponed till the International Federation provides the final results, after dope suspicions.

Moldova was represented by 26 sportspeople at the Rio Olympics from last summer.
