The government wants to modernize agriculture by attracting young people in this field. The statement was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu at the inauguration of the exhibitions "Moldagrotech" and "Farmer - 2020". The event took place this year at the "Porumbeni" Institute of Phytotechnics in Pașcani village, Criuleni district, and brought together about 50 companies from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
ION CHICU, Prime Minister: "We are glad that farmers are a little happier than we saw them in August, when they were very discouraged by the weather conditions. We will continue , through the grant fund, to subsidize these technical acquisitions. "
New technologies in agriculture, irrigation systems, but also high-performance technology were presented in the exhibition. At the same time, the participants presented combined feeds, seed material, hybrids, but also veterinary medicines. The event will end on October 17.
According to the Government, the drought and hail has caused billion lei worth damage in agriculture.
As a result, the executive decided to grant from 1100 to 3800 lei compensation for each hectare affected by the drought. In total, the amount of subsidies requested by agricultural producers during the last five years amounts to 1.8 billion lei.
