GREEN Card, the most fake document at customs. How a Ukrainian driver was caught
A Ukrainian driver was detained at the Tudora crossing point after he presented two counterfeit car insurance certificates.
The driver said he bought his documents from an insurance company and could not explain the fake found. In order to continue his journey, the Ukrainian citizen purchased other motor insurance from the agencies deployed at the crossing point.
On the evening of January 29, a semi-trailer truck, both registered in the neighboring country, was presented on the way of entry to the Republic of Moldova. The driver, a citizen of Ukraine, handed in for verification the documents required to be allowed to cross the state border. As a result of the investigation, the border police officer noticed in the car insurance "Green Card" visible signs of counterfeiting.
When crossing the state border by car, drivers need to possess and, at the request of the border guard, he is obliged to hand over for inspection:
- a driving license issued in his name, valid for the category / subcategory to which the motor vehicle is part;
- the vehicle registration certificate;
- compulsory Green Car Insurance, which is valid for the country of transit and destination.
According to IGPF statistics on documentary fraud, the car insurance certificate is one of the most frequently counterfeited acts in the past year, with the counterfeit Green Papers being raised at the border.
