Guilty man of a woman's death crushed by a tractor, sentenced to five and a half years in prison
A man from Anenii Noi district was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison in the closed-type penitentiary with the deprivation of the right to drive for 5 years.
The guy received his punishment after he got drunk at the steering wheel of his own tractor without his cabin and his passenger died.
The incident would have happened after the man and many friends celebrated on the banks of the Dniester River, and the tragedy occurred as they returned home. The man did not finish with the driving of the tractor, which skidded and overturned on the Dniester River Dam. The 27-year-old woman died instantly, being crushed by a tractor, and the defendant was hospitalized with trauma at the hospital.
The defendant did not acknowledge his blame, saying the victim would have driven the tractor. However, sufficient evidence has been provided that has shown that the tragedy has occurred because of the defendant.
The man was previously convicted of an analogous act committed in similar circumstances when a passenger quit on a field road after falling off the driver's seat of the same tractor. The defendant was then sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and suspended from the right to drive for three years.
