High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey will be established
The High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey will be established. Parliament will ratify the Joint Declaration on the establishment of the Council, signed in Chisinau on October 17, 2018. The parliamentary committees debated this draft at today's meetings.
The High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey will be chaired by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the President of Turkey. It will establish a strategy for the development of political, military, security, economic, trade, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, health, culture, science and humanitarian relations.
The Joint Strategic Planning Group, chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, will be set up within the Council.
The document will help deepen and diversify cooperation with Turkey, boost economic relations, develop regional and international cooperation, and build Moldovan-Turkish relations at strategic partnership level.
The draft will be voted on by the Parliament. According to the Constitution, the mandate of the Parliament is prolonged until the legal meeting of the new composition. During this period, Parliament may adopt ordinary laws, decisions and so on, may hold hearings, consultations and perform parliamentary scrutiny.
