Flu cases are on the rise from one week to another, and the number of deaths has reached 16. More and more people are also addressing doctors with acute respiratory infections. In order to cope with the large number of patients, several hospitals in the capital added to the number of beds in salons.
At the Municipal Clinical Hospital Nr. 1, the neonatal pathology section is full. A few days ago, employees brought more beds so that all patients would fit. Mariana Zubic is hospitalized with his little boy. The baby made a fever, and the woman said she was scared and urgently called the ambulance.
"From the beginning was the stuffy stuffing and I was, the doctor told me to make a physiological solution to cover the nose, after that he began to clog harder and on Sunday had a fever of 37.5, and on Monday I called to the Ambulance not me she liked how he breathed", said Mariana Zubic, a patient.
And Oxana Platon is at the hospital with her baby for only a month. The woman is also cold and she has to wear a mask to protect the little one.
"The baby, he began to cough, his nose was clogged and he stammered. I cough a little and my throat told me that the red one and the nose is clogged and that's why they say no worse to him", said Oxana Platon, patient.
Physicians say they are ready to reorganize other sections for the sick and the flu. At the Mother and Child Institute, the pregnancy pathology section is full.
"In the evening I just started to cough very hard and my temperature started to rise, and in one case I did not think it was cold", said Lia Madan, a patient.
"At the moment there are 28 patients in the department, 19 of whom are confirmed as influenza virus N1H1, all of them are consulted by an internist, a phtisopolmonologist, an infectious person, all of them are undergoing antiviral treatment", said Marcel Bejan, head of the Pathology of pregnant and emergency obstetrics.
Last week, the flu epidemic threshold was exceeded.
"The epidemic period is observed when three consecutive weeks of morbidity is higher than the epidemic threshold. We passed, we were the week four in the threshold and we passed the threshold at week five", said Stefan Gheorghita, head of the surveillance and infection control within ANSP.
