Several politicians in our country were supported by great number of the population in their hometowns in the February 24 elections. Vlad Plahotniuc and Pavel Filip are two of them. 

However, in the village of PAS leader, Maia Sandu, candidate of ACUM bloc was defeated by PDM representative, according to Central Election Commission (CEC) data. 

In Grozeşti village, Nisporeni district, 972 people voted for PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc while 50 people voted for ACUM candidate Ion Terguţă. 

In Bălăureşti village, Nisporeni district, PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc gained majority of votes while ACUM candidate was elected by 113 voters. 

PDM senior vice-president Pavel Filip also championed in his hometown Pănăşeşti village, Străşeni district. He gained 927 votes against 148 votes of ACUM candidate Igor Grosu. 

The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu, did not run for the constituency, which includes her village of native - Risipeni, Falesti rayon. PDM candidate Iraida Bîzari championed with 236 votes against ACUM candidate Vasili Tataru with 135 votes. 

The February 24th parliamentary elections took place for the first time on the basis of the mixed voting system. 50 MPs were elected on party lists, and 51 MPs were voted in uninominal constituencies.
