Hundreds new computers reach 20 schools in Moldova thanks to Memorandum of Understanding with Republic of Korea
Ministry of Education, Culture and Research has sent 150 new computers to 20 general education institutions of Calarasi, Causeni, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Hincesti, Ialoveni, Soroca, Straseni, Stefan Voda, Taraclia and Telenesti districts.
State Secretary Igor Sharov congratulated the institutions, stating qualitative equipment will enable digital competences and improve teaching-learning process.
"One of Ministry's priorities is to offer computer rooms and modern technology across the country. We thank Jeju Province partners for this investment in our education system", said the official.
Republic of Korea donated computers to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research in 2018 following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on ICT Cooperation with the Jeju Provincial Government Education Office.
Beneficiary education institutions are selected according to the following criteria:
-Total number of pupils;
-Number of students residing in other localities;
-Minimum standards for ICT provision for general education institutions.
The total value of computers is over 125,000 US dollars.
