Igor Dodon retains the idea to integrate Moldova into Eurasia Union
President Igor Dodon didn't give up the idea to integrate Republic of Moldova into Eurasia Union. In a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the head of state noted that Moldova intends to cooperate more closely with EAEU, according to Ziarul National.
"We plan to study the possibilities of Moldova's participation in the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). We understand the economic benefits that Moldova could gain from joining this institution.
The thorough examination of the Bank's activity and the meetings with its leadership, in my opinion, will allow us to determine the priority investment projects for Moldova and promote the idea of joining the country to the EDB, " said Igor Dodon, quoted by Accent TV.
Dodon also noted he wants Moldova to have a permanent representative at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
"A permanent representative will allow Moldova to maintain close contacts with the Commission, to quickly receive information related to the development of commercial and economic cooperation, the development of customs, technical, sanitary regulations, etc", the head of state stressed.
Moreover, Igor Dodon wants a more active presence of the Eurasian Union in the Republic of Moldova.
"We are willing to technically ensure the activity of the moving sessions of EEC public subdivisions and of the advisory committees in Chisinau.
We are also ready to welcome participants to various business events, forums. All these will contribute to the popularization of the activities of EAEU in Moldova, to the familiarization of the citizens and the local businessmen with the processes of Eurasian integration.
Our proposal remains valid - Chisinau is waiting for guests from the EEC and from the countries of the Eurasian Union ”, Igor Dodon concluded.
