Igor Şarov participates in Moldova ICT Summit 2018

The event is organized by the National Association of ICT Companies in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development and Government Sweden.
The current edition of the ICT Summit in Moldova is dedicated to the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education, and aims at capitalizing on the potential of digital education in Moldova.
During the event, Secretary General of State, Igor Şarov, stated that: "Information and Communication Technologies have an increasingly important role in contemporary society. Moreover, the IT sector enjoys an increasing share both in the world economy and in the national economy. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research not only elaborates new curricula, but also undertakes a series of measures meant to ensure the general education institutions in the country in order to ensure a high quality educational process".
At present, several projects related to information technologies are being implemented in the educational institutions in the country. Thus, 11 high schools will be equipped with innovative equipment (three in Chisinau, two in Balti and six in the rural areas), a National Center for Teacher Training at the Institute of Sciences of the Education, the training of the implementation teams will be ensured, as well as the elaboration of the Recommendation Guidelines for the replication of the Future Classes.
"The project provides for the creation of open learning areas where teachers and students experience innovative teaching and learning scenarios using digital technologies (programming, robotics, sensors, digital media and manufacturing equipment). This will increase students' interest in careers in the fields of science, technology and engineering, by promoting and implementing creative, collaborative, automotive and entrepreneurial training methods, "Igor Sharov said.
Also, a series of major initiatives for the educational system in the country were launched at the summit: the TwentyTU Project, the Eastern Partnership Joint Programs, the Tekwill National Innovation Center Network.
The event was attended by: Prime Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, ICT industry leaders, academics, development partners, investors, experts from the country and abroad who informed the public about the implementation of ICT solutions and innovations in education and their impact on the efficiency of the training process and the development of ICT skills by the students.
