Parliament has adopted the bill on the expansion of beneficiaries of the monthly state  allowances granted to victims of political repression. 

Accordingly, monthly state allowances worth 500 lei will be granted to the victims of the political repressions from the period 1917-1990, regardless of whether or not they are beneficiaries of pensions or state allowances.

Currently, the legislation stipulates that only persons who have the right to pension can benefit from this allowance.

In the public social insurance are listed 9,580 persons who are victims of the political repressions from the period 1917-1990. 

Another 2000 persons will benefit from this allowance as a result of the change. 

The bill stipulates expenditures of 12 million lei in the 2020 state budget.
