Information regarding crowd at Palanca and Tudora customs
As a result of the online media reports on the transport units clustered on the morning of today leaving the country through the customs offices Palanca and Tudora, we mention that they were caused by a malfunction of the information system in the customs administration of Ukraine.
The database of Ukrainian counterparts was not operational between 22:00 and 09:15, which is why they resorted to manual finalization, but this means extending the processing time. At the joint control station "Palanca", the agglomerations of vehicles began to be registered around 04:00, some of the cars being redirected to the customs office of "Tudora".
During this time, the authorities have intensively activated to speed up the passage. If at Palanca, on a Saturday or Sunday, around 65-75 transport units (both ways) are processed at peak hours, then from 04:00 to 10:00 today, in manual mode 45 cars have been perfected.
According to the information received from the territory, the traffic values began to decrease at 10:00 and now they are activated in the normal regime, with no queues certified.
We recall that the establishment of the temporary customs office at "Palanca" represented a solution of the Customs Service in order not to completely close the crossing point during its capital reconstruction. The commissioning of the new joint control point "Palanca" is scheduled for December this year.
The new construction will be located on a 2.6 hectare area, which will allow significant increase in processing capacity. In both entry and exit directions, there are 2 passenger lanes, 2 for lorries and one for coaches.
The Customs Service disapproves of such incidents, which create inconvenience to travelers. In this context, we specify that the institution maintains dialogue with counterparts in Ukraine in order to find solutions to remedy the problems that have arisen.
