Over 6 tonnes of meat was confiscated by officers and National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) employees, after inspecting two enterprises from Criuleni district, specialized in manufacturing meat, cold cuts and smoked meat.
According to law enforcement, over 4 tonnes of pork and beef lacked expiry date, while another 35 kg were expired. At the same time, 1 800 eggs were found without certificates of origin or veterinary certificates.
Officers have also established that the meat was kept in unfit conditions. The goods had a total worth of around 470 000 lei.
Guilty people risk a fine from 6 000 to 9 000 lei.
